Tony The Pencil Presents - 'Ultimate B-Boy Funk Volume One'
available now on viny and CD

Well the title pretty much sums it up really. These are funk tunes suited for the breaker, but you won't hear a lot of these at your average jam.

With this comp I wanted to introduce breakers to the deeper funk tunes that are great for the b-boys, but a little too hard-core for the average night club dance floor. You have to be or have been a breaker to really understand what b-boy funk is! Enjoy the Pencil.

Side 1

1 Stuffed Peppers - (G. Fischoff)

What can I say, designed for the breaker and a killer break as well. This tune has it all!

2 Who Wants To Listen (Edit) - (J.Chambers)

I found this for £2 in a 2nd hand record store, played it to D.J. Junk, he used it on 'Breaker Breaks Vol 2' and the rest is history.

3 Can I feel It - (A.Trahan)

Deep funk this one, used to go for a fortune but priced more sensibly now. Get your pump hat on!

4 Latin Strut (Deodato, J. Bataan)

I've heard this one at a few b-boy jams. 70's latin soul at its best.

Side 2

1 It's Just Begun - (7" version) -(J.Castor)

A well known tune but the 7" version is so much rawer than the L.P. one. An up- rockers dream!

2 Jump Street - (M.Bush, L.Van Dyke)

A classic used by Ultramagnetic MC's, often overlooked because of the well known A side.

3 Promised Land - (F.Wilson)

Complete and utter hype-ness. Only a breaker with the dopest footwork can keep up with this steam train!

4 Do It For Me - (G.Crook, B. Gardener)

Wicked tune this one, apparently this guy repairs T.V.'s now.
