Back by popular demand, the
7th volume this compilation series that catalogues those rare and
obscure tracks associated with the breaking scene past and present. The tracks
selected for this
album are chosen on merit and difficulty to obtain not commercial success
as with some other
compilations, none of these were ever hits and would not have made much money
for the artists
or labels when they were released but have since achieved cult status amongst
the connoisseurs.
1 'Girl You Ain't No Vanessa' MCEC A beast of a
tune that sounds like a Mantronics production with Robert S
vocals, wicked lyrics about girls. Super
tuff sounding old skool hip hop with that raw drum track that
sounds like it's from one of those early This
is a great tune for the B-Boys. It's hard to classify, this
tune is sort of funk latin soul. Pass the Mr Sheen 4
Across 110th Street Bonus Breaks This
is a little re-edit of the intro from 'Across 110th Street',
it's been looped over several times with some of the horn as
well for double decking. - Junk 1
'Across 110th Street' Cecil holms 70's
theme soundtrack that has become an anthem amongst the new skool
b-boy scene lately. Funky intro that
I
always feel isn't long enough, if you're quick on the decks
you could double up that intro or for the lesser skilled you
could use the little re-edit I've done on the other side , the
intro is longer. - Junk Another
classic that Mike Allen used to play, what a record. This was
later sampled by 'Audio Two' on an I
just remember hearing this on the 'History Of Hip Hop' video
and seeing 'Icy Ice' from the 'New York City 4
'Imperial Scratch' Boys Next Door Another
Mike Allen gem, totally elusive on original vinyl, been after
it for years. Starts with an organ intro that sounds like something
by Bach, wicked rap about a topic often rapped about - scratching
and it has lots in it as well. That organ comes back now and
then to add some atmosphere. - Junk. 5
Black Grass Bonus Breaks This is the break from 'Black
Grass' looped up for turntable doubling, there are variations
to the stab at the start click tracks to download

Don't know much about this track, not many people I've played
it to have heard of it before but it's one of
the tuffest mid 80's electro tunes I've heard. This track comes
courtesy of 'Ictus'. - Junk
drum machines, loads of stabs, samples and dope scratching,
just like a good Hip Hop track should be. - Junk
and mind ya biznezz! - Tony The Pencil
equally dope record. - Tony The Pencil
Breakers' doing his dope footwork in the 'Funhouse'. Unroll
that lino! - Tony The Pencil
of the break, some just the stab, others with a bit of the music
before the stab. This enables the d.j.to cut up
different bits as with the original but giving more time to
cue the other deck before the break runs out.
